A Heart Bent Out of Shape

A Heart Bent Out of Shape - Emylia Hall I won this book thanks to the Goodreads First Reads scheme.

A Heart Bent Out of Shape follows Hadley Dunn on her year abroad in Switzerland. During her year Hadley befriends Kristina, her roommate and forms a relationship with the seemingly too good to be true Joel Wilson. She also meets Hugo - who I saw as a voice of sense throughout the novel as an older (and wiser) figure.

What really adds to "A Heart Bent Out Of Shape" is the setting; Lausanne acts as a stunning backdrop to Hadley's eventful year. Although the storyline is traumatic and emotional this does nothing to damage the enchantment of the city this mystery evolves in.

I thought this was a beautifully written novel and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it! Would recommend.
